Almond Festival
Each year, the YCSAS assists the Sheriff’s Office during the Almond Festival. This event takes place in the Esparto/Capay Valley Region of Yolo County. During this event, our mission is to patrol the roadways from the air, provide air support to deputies on the ground, and respond to emergency situations as needed. From festival goers to flight crews; this is a fun event for all involved.
Race For the Cure – Jail N Bail
This is an annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Race For The Cure event. Aero squadron members “arrest” people during the race and put them in “jail”. In order to get out, they have to post bail! Anyone can request a warrant for just about any reason. Parents arrest their kids for not doing their homework, kids arrest their parents for snoring too loud, friends arrest friends for not helping them move; you get the idea. It’s a great time and raises money for a great cause.
Yolo County Fair
We help man the Sheriff’s Booth and Lost Children Booth at the Yolo County Fair. If you are out enjoying the festivities, stop by and say “hello”!
Airport Open Houses & Airshows
We attend various airport open house events throughout the county. Traditionally, we bring out our aircraft for a static display and have a great time interacting with the public and answering questions.
